Our circular model is designed to support short-term living situations—like college students, visiting scholars, and young professionals—without the burden of traditional furniture ownership.

Who we are
MUMU FurnCycle is a student-led, mission-driven initiative reimagining how furniture fits into short-term living.
Founded by Gloria Yu—an international student, designer, and sustainability advocate—MUMU was born out of personal experience with the challenges of moving in and out of furnished spaces during school. Seeing the waste and stress caused by one-year leases, limited budgets, and furniture disposal, Gloria set out to create a better, more circular system.
What started as a thesis project has grown into a passionate team of students and collaborators who believe good design and sustainability should be accessible to everyone. Together, we’re building a service that picks up pre-loved furniture, professionally refreshes it, and brings it back into circulation for others in transition. We’re committed to reducing waste, supporting our community, and making moving a little easier—one piece at a time.
